Job Purpose and Impact

The purpose of the Business Transportation Lead role for SST Europe is to partner with business leaders and stakeholders and serve as the CTL functional point of contact. In order to align and implement the transportation and logistics strategy within the business and drive T&L value across the supply chain. The BTL is responsible for the full scope of the business's transportation and logistics activities, performance, metrics and budget. The position will also lead T&L value creation opportunities across the wider Food Solutions business. It includes work in the areas of strategy & execution leadership, business budget & resource management, sourcing compliance, activity monitoring & measurement, supply chain interface, customer relationship and talent management inputs. This position will work in partnership across the integrated supply chain of the business coordinating with Supply Chain Planning, Customer Service, Order Management, Commercial and Operations to help, measure and optimize performance across the integrated supply chain from supplier to customer. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Leads development and implementation of transportation & logistics long term vision and strategic direction for Business Group, including long -range objectives, policies and strategy. 
  • Direct the execution and continuous improvement of logistics processes. Own Business' T&L budget and service deliverables. Accountable for achieving transportation & logistics targets. 
  • Integrate market intelligence from operation entities, distribution, transportation, suppliers and customers to continuously improve the service to customers. 
  • Direct the activities of coordinators and support staff doing data entry and data management of carrier, customer, vendor, inventory and shipment data.
  • Lead, advise and make decisions on all major logistics and transportation activities.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of six years of related work experience

  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of supervisory experience
